East District Cross Country League Race 1
Race Date: 01 November 2025
Thanks to Graeme Warren for the following race report: With XC relays completed, it was on to the first East District race today. After the Juniors showed us how it was done, a strong contingent of five women and five men took to the start line at a breezy but mostly dry Kirkcaldy. Wiktoria has moved up to the U20 category this year and led the ladies home, followed by Jenny Dallas, Gill Dowse, Mags Gough and Monica Warren - the largest Strathearn Harriers women's entry in quite some time? The 8k men's race was the last of the day, with Graeme Warren, Jon Turnbull, Nick Gough, Jim Reid and Mike Thomson all finishing strongly in the pack. Great support from the Juniors as always, and a good leg stretch in the winter season. On to Dundee for the next round on 22nd November.
The women's team finished in a respectable 12th position (out of 25 teams), with the men's team finishing in 17th position (out of 34 teams).
The women's race was won by Edinburgh AC, and the men's race was won by Central AC, who took five of the top seven places!
