Graeme Warren was the sole club representative, and provided the following report:
"This popular race organised by PH Racing always sells out within hours, primarily because of the fast, flat course and potential for PBs. A strong field didn't hold back with Jamie Crowe dipping under 30min (albeit 40 seconds off his course record) and Nancy Scott just under 34min.
With a strong headwind forecast for the second half, and the lingering effects of a pre-Christmas flu (not to mention a few too many Christmas treats), I'd given up on any hopes of a PB and was aiming for survival. A steady start was enforced by the narrow course (I probably should have started further up) but I made up a few places and in the end crossed the line in a chip time of 35:59, just 3 seconds off my 10K PB. The depth of the field was underlined by the fact that 36min was only good enough for 87th overall! (7th V40-45).
Good to get out for a post-Christmas leg stretch but putting my feet up with some more mince pies currently looks quite appealing for next year (if I can remember to enter Perth instead)."
