Loch Ness Marathon

The Loch Ness Marathon is one of the best established marathons in Scotland, and regularly attracts a strong field, along with hundreds of club runners.
Congratulations to Thom Harrison and to Gerard Chouet - both strong finishers in this year’s race. Thom followed his Warrington half marathon effort the previous week with a tough race to finish in 3:46:24 for 859th place. Thom reports: Overall time 3:45. Half marathon time just over 1:30, 2nd half 2:15. A tale of two halves.
Gerard finished in 4:22:28 for 1955th place (out of 4160 finishers overall). Gerard reports: Brilliant conditions, finishing time of 4h20, 5 min slower than my target time. Didn't feel my best from the start, tried to push as far as I could, didn’t pay off. The end was a mixed bag of upset tummy, empty tank.
The race was won by Alex Milne of Hercules Wimbledon AC in a very zippy 2:15:46 to set a new course record.
