Strathearn Harriers - New Year's Day Run 2014

Ochil 2000s

Race Date: 22 August 2026

The Ochil 2000s is a demanding hill race, covering, as the name suggests, all the 2000ft hills in the Ochils, and is run from Glen Sherup over the hills to Stirling. As an added challenge, the route has a severe ascent of Dumyat just as the finish is coming into sight.

Many thanks to Harrison Cunnah for the following race report, covering his and Thomas Silkstone’s run: Couldn’t have picked a more glorious day, maybe too nice! Very hot in sections, but we got to witness the Ochils in fine form! A tough day for both of us, a good start for me and a good finish for Tom, but Dumyat proved once again that it’s a right bugger. Especially at that point in the race but we got the job done. Big congrats to Tom on his first LC (long course). Onto the next!

Harrison finished in 3:49:15, for 16th place, with Thomas not far behind (3:52:01) for 17th place out of 78 finishers in this 33 km, 1770m ascent race.

The race was won by Luke Fisher of Carnethy in 2.42.40.
