Brig Bash

The Brig Bash is a popular flat 5 mile road race run on quiet back roads round Bridge of Earn. In addition to the main prize, there are extra prizes for the fastest first mile. It's also famed for the quality and quantity of its post-race catering!Thanks to Nicola Watson for the following run report: Just two intrepid runners went off to Bridge of Earn last night. We nearly talked ourselves out of it at the start as it was pretty wet, but it dried up after about 15 mins and we both ended up thoroughly enjoying the race, and the great post race buffet.
Morris finished in 50th place, in 32:59, and Nicola in 152nd place, in 40:27. There were 251 finishers, and the organisers note that Jamie Crowe set a new course record of 22:58, whilst Fiona Matheson set a W65 world record for the 5-mile distance, clocking an outstanding 31:56.
The women's race was won by Gayle Lindsay in 29.50.
