The Kirkintilloch 10k is a friendly, club-organised road race held on a largely flat, scenic course along the Forth & Clyde canal towpath between Kirkintilloch and Cadder, open to runners of all abilities. Many thanks to John Myles for the following race report: Headed down to Kirkintilloch for a flat 10k run along the canal path - just one sneaky hill to worry about. It was a well-organised event, marshalled very well and the bonus was that we even avoided the rain last night. The race is organised by Kirkintilloch Olympians and is great value for a chip-timed race at £11 and a medal. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you fancy going for a PB. Finished in a time of 48.23 so was happy enough with that.
John finished in 153rd position out of 288 starters. The race was won by Fraser Holman of Harmeny AC in a zippy 31.33.
