John Muir Way 50km Ultra

The organisers describe this as the “first race of its type on the East Coast, it guarantees to provide mile upon mile of stunning coastal stretches, rural landscape and woodland trails”. That sounds nice, but it does involve some serious endurance running. Clare McClelland stepped up to that challenge, finishing in a time of 7:17:10 for 309th place out of 334 finishers (and 16 DNFs). Clare says: 50km in the sun! John Muir Ultra, amazing route, fab marshals and the best support crew ever Tony!
The race was won by a well-known face on the Scottish ultra running scene, Rob Sinclair of Deeside Runners, in a time of 3.17.57, and the women's race was won by Jill Mykura of Carnethy in 4.03.10.
