Strathearn Harriers - New Year's Day Run 2014

John Muir Way

Race Date: 08 March 2025

The John Muir Way Ultra is a 50k event starting in Port Seton, just east of Edinburgh, following an attractive coastal route through Aberlady, Gullane and North Berwick before heading inland to East Linton, finishing in Dunbar. It's flattish, but with some short sharp climbs and a variety of terrain.

From Tony McClelland's report:

Quite fitting for International Women’s day three female Harriers made the trek over to Port Seton for this 50k ultra. Clear skies and cool temps provided perfect running conditions. An amazing team of marshals laid on a really well marked route, endless snacks and a lovely party atmosphere at the finish.  First Harrier home was Lorna MacLarty in an impressive 5h10, taking 18th female. Josie Goodfellow crossed the line in 6h05 (tbc) after a tough shift. Clare got to 35k before accepting it wasn’t her day. Well done to all three - you’re amazing!

This was Lorna's first ultra - a very impressive debut!
